Sociology is youngest subject of social science. It deals with every aspect of society that may be infrastructure, behavior, custom and tradition, norms, value etc. It has also deals with other social science. Let us discuss about it relationship with other social science:-
1) Sociology and Political Science:
Sociology and Political Science both are inter-related
and inter-depended on each other and relation
Like Sister. We can study relation between
Sociology and Political Science in two aspects.
Similarity:
1) Sociology and Political Science both are deals with
various Institutions, groups, organizations etc role,
impact on society.
2) Political Science helps to studies ideological
behavior of society.
3) Sociology helps to identify much kind of
socio-political problems like child marriage, unemployment,
and LGBT problems.
4) Sociology helps to understand political movements,
struggles like French revolution, Russian
revolution and it also make a
socio-political conscious among people.
Differences:
1) Sociology deals with society and its every aspect of
society but on other way Political science deals only political aspect of
society.
2) Study area of sociology is wider then Political science,
sociology is a general science but political science s is a special science.
3) Sociology identifies a problem social as well as political but
political science identifies only political problems.
2) Sociology and History:
Sociology and history both are closely related to each other. Sociologist says “History without Sociology has no fruit, while Sociology without History has no root”.
SIMILARITY
1) Sociology and history both are deal with human developments, evolutions, thoughts and ideologies.
2) Both are study society from ancient to modern way and make a new way of thinking about society.
3) Without history sociology are not considered.
4) Both are the study of the pattern of human interaction, culture, and social relationships.
DIFFERNCES:
1) Sociology is younger subject then history.
2) History is collection of various past events but Sociology is scientific study of present society.
3) Sociology is a general science but History is a data science.
3) Sociology and Anthropology:
Sociology and Anthropology are very close to each other like two branch of a tree. Early both subjects are together but after mid 19th century Anthropology separate from sociology.
Similarity:
1) 1) Sociology and Anthropology are social sciences that study human beings and human behavior.
2) 2) Both of them related with human activity and movement.
3) 3)The role of Human in society, family, kinship, institution is analysis by Anthropology.
4) 4) Human idea, behavior, thought, activity are dynamic in nature, it has to complex to deal with it but with the help of anthropology we can easily understand this complexity.
DIFFERNCE
1) 1) Anthropology only deals with human behavioral attitude but Sociology deal with human social attitude.
2) 2)Human evolution in sociology means socio-economic, culture evolution but in Anthropology human evolution means physical evolution of human.
3) 3)Anthropology is younger subject then sociology.
4) SOCIOLOGY AND ECONOMICS:
Sociology and Economics are close related with each other. Sociologist also define that Economic is a fact but sociology is a comprehensive science.
SIMILARITY:
1) 1) Sociology and Economic both are deal with many kind of socio-economic Institution.
2) 2) Develop of any society, institution, organization etc are measure by economic and sociology.
3) 3) Social activity and relationship are also affected by economic activity.
4) 4) Economics interest in solving poverty, child labor, unemployment, beggar etc but without sociology it cannot be possible.
DEFFERNCE:
1) 1) Sociology studies every social aspect of society but Economics studies only economic aspect of society.
2) 2) Economics relate with various economic institutions like bank, market, service sector etc but in sociology relate with all kind institutions.
3) 3) Sociology is an empirical science but economics is a pure science, and economics is more scientific then sociology.
5) SOCIOLOGY AND PSYCHOLOGY:
Sociology and Psychology are closely related and they are inter-related & inter-depended with each other. Social Psychology is a science of behavior.
SIMILARITY:
1) 1) Both are deal with human’s social relationship with society and other social institutions.
2) 2) Psychology also helps sociology to understand human conscious, behavior, mental activities.
3) 3) Human thought, development, evolution cannot be studies in Sociology without the help of Psychology.
DIFFERNCE:
1) 1)Sociology deals with social aspect of human but Psychology deals with mental aspect of human.
2) 2) Sociology studies human behavior in horizontal style but in Psychology human behavior studies in vertical style.
3) 3) The methodology of Sociology is different from Psychology.
4) 4) The study area of Sociology is wider then Psychology.
